Freedom of Information Act

 

Request for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) are to be submitted to the FOIA Officer in writing via postal mail, fax, email, or in person at the address listed below.

 

A FOIA request form is available on the District’s website at www.ccsd66.org or at any District 66 facility and may be used when making a FOIA request; however, the use of this form is not required.

 

The FOIA Officer will respond to the party making the request within five (5) business days from the date of receipt of the request.

The Board of Education meets regularly at Prairieview School on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m.  At these meetings, the business of the school district is conducted.   It is important to note that School Board meetings are not public meetings, but meetings held in public.  This is an important distinction in that the Board of Education conducts its business in the public eye, but is not a public meeting where the public can take part in the actual meeting.  Public participation at Board meetings is solely at the discretion of the Board of Education.  There is a time at every meeting for members of the public to address the Board of Education regarding issues or concerns.  While the Board may not respond to each concern at the meeting the Board will direct the appropriate person to respond to these concerns.
