Installation and Setup -- Open Office

Download from the internet -- http://www.openoffice.org -- or if you have the CD, place CD in your computer, double click “My Computer” to open, find your CD drive, double click that drive.

Double Click OpenOffice icon to start the install.
Click Next
Click Unpack
Click Next on This Screen
Click in the “I Accept the terms of the License Agreement” button on this screen and then Next.

Fill in the user information on this next screen:

Choose Complete Install on this screen then click Next:

Check all three boxes on this screen then click Next:

Click Install on the next Screen.

Click Finish to end the install.

The programs are now installed and you can access them via the Start, Programs, OpenOffice folder.

Programs are

Writer is the word processing software

Calc is the spreadsheet software

Impress is the prosentation softwaer

The first time you use a program, you will need to go through the licensing pages.

Start the Writing Program:

Click OpenOffice Writer to open the word processing software. Then click:

Next

Scroll through the license agreement, then click Accept

Fill in your user name and initials, Next

Make sure the “Check for Updates Automatically” box is checked, Next

Click in the I have already registered box, Finish.
