FLOOR
HOCKEY
Floor hockey is started
with a "bully" or "face off" during which you hit the floor
and sticks 3 times each. This is done
by the center forward.
Each team has 6 people,
3 on offense and 3 on defense. Only the center forward may play the whole
floor.
Each goal counts for
one point. In order to count as a goal,
the puck must hit the floor before it goes in the goal. Goalies may not score.
The goalie may catch
the puck and slide it out. If the puck
is thrown, it is a free shot for the other team.
It is illegal to:
High
stick -- 1-minute penalty
Check
-- out of game for rest of time period
Throw
the puck -- free shot
Intentionally
loft the puck -- free shot
Slap
shot -- free shot
Free shots will be
taken from the free throw line. Only
the goalie may be in the goal. All
other players must be out of the free throw lane.
Off sides -- if off
sides is being used, only the center may cross the centerline. Defense must stay on the goalie's half of
the floor. Wings must stay on the
offensive half of the floor.
If the puck goes around
the curtain, under the bleachers, in the locker room, or in any unplayable
area, the defense gets it and gets a free hit.
