Daily Schedule:

 

  1. We leave the locker room 3 minutes after the second bell.
  2. Warm ups and fitness workouts.
  3. Instruction.
  4. Practice and/or game.

 

Class Rules:

 

  1. Class starts 3 minutes after the second bell.  Those students not ready may be given a tardy and/or alternate assignment.

 

  1. We change every day, so bring appropriate clothing for cold weather.  Sweats or outdoor clothing should be kept in the hall locker.  Students will need the following clothing for cross-country skiing: hats, gloves, jackets, plastic bags, face protection.  These articles should be in the hall locker from Thanksgiving through March.

 

  1. No one is allowed back in the locker room without permission.

 

  1. At the end of class, everyone is to remain in the locker room until the bell rings.

 

  1. For safety purposes, gum chewing is not allowed.  The penalty is a detention.

 

  1. FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY:  Only gym shoes are acceptable; no hiking boots, sandals, shoes without heels, or platform shoes.  The penalty is to sit out, for which you will receive and “F” for the day.  An alternate assignment may also be given.  For safety purposes, all shoes must be tied.

 

  1. For safety purposes, no baggy shorts or pants are allowed.  An alternate pair will be provided.

 

  1. When bringing in a medical excuse, please state what activities the child may participate in.  If participation in activities is not possible, an alternate assignment may be given.

 

Grading each trimester will be based on the following:

  1. Activity units:  written test, skill development, daily work.

 

  1. Fitness:  Step aerobics, Jump rope (20 points each)

    Fitness folder (includes journal entries, run log, heart rate sheets)

    Runs:  each 10-minute run is worth 10 points, one point for each minute in the target heart rate                             zone.

 

 

 

You are responsible for all missed work if you are absent due to illness, vacation, band lessons, field trips, etc.  You are responsible for arranging a make-up time with your teacher.
