PICKLEBALL
Pickleball is played as singles or doubles with a paddle and ball over a net. The game was named after the dog, "Pickles," who kept stealing the ball. Eleven points wins the game.
The game is started with a serve: Underhand volley (toss and hit), cross court.
The serve must bounce in the service box.
When the other side hits the serve back, the team that served must let the ball bounce on their side before hitting it.
When the ball bounces once on each side of the net, it is called the DOUBLE BOUNCE RULE.
After the double bounce, the ball may be hit with a volley or off of one bounce.
To VOLLEY the ball, your feet must be behind the non-volley line.
A VOLLEY is a hit in the air before the ball bounces.
To rally is to hit the ball back and forth.
A forehand is a hit on the racquet side of your body.
A backhand is a hit done by reaching across your body with the racquet.
A smash is a hard, down hit.
