Each contestant gets 3 jumps.

A one-foot take-off is used.

TRACK EVENTS

Track events are listed as sprints or distance. Sprints are races 400 yards or less.

A false start disqualifies the runner.

The runner must start behind the starting line.

On short races, runners must stay in their lanes or be disqualified.

Relays:

There are 4 people on a relay team.

The baton must be passed inside the passing zone.

The hand-off we use is called a BLIND HAND-OFF because you are not looking at the passer.

Relays use a staggered start, in which each runner starts at a different spot.

Sprints: 50,100, 200, 400 yard dashes

Distance: 800 and mile
