Dance

 

1.      A four-wall dance means you turn and face all 4 walls, as in the Electric Slide or Slappin' Leather.

 

2.      The pattern of the grapevine step is:  step, behind, step, kick.

 

3.      A line dance is done in a line, such as the Virginia Reel or DC Stroll.

 

4.      When in dance position, the man's right hand is on the lady's shoulder blade;

The lady's left hand is on the man's shoulder.

 

5.      The swing uses a different hand hold for the lady's right hand.  "She dips her hand in a glass of water.

 

6.  The count for the swing is:  one, two, three    one, two, three   rock step.

     The swing steps we did are:      

            Basic, natural turn, reverse turn, sweatheart, kicks

 

7.      The count for the mambo and rumba are:  quick, quick, slow.

The rumba steps we did are:

      Basic, turn

 

8.      The count for the cha cha is:  rock step, cha cha cha.

The cha cha steps we did are:

      Basic, cross-over breaks

 

9.      The count for the tango is:  slow, slow, quick, quick, slow.
