Dance! Dance! Dance!

Dancing enhances our rhythmic abilities. Keeping to the beat of the music isn't easy; and trying to remember steps and lead really complicates things.

Mrs. Ann Garvey is a professional ballroom dancer and dance instructor, who lives in our district. We were very lucky to have her come and instruct us in the rumba, swing, cha cha, and tango.

We finished up all of our practice with the big dance on December 20th. All of the 8th graders were in the old gym and Mrs. Garvey led us through the various dances. Then Mrs. Garvey and her son, Brian, and Mr. and Mrs. Garvey did some dance exhibitions for us. After that, we had lady's choice and men's choice.

Thanks to the PTO for organizing appetizers for us and thanks to all the parents who brought good things for us to eat.
