Superintendent Message

District 66 Parents,

Interim SuperintendentsWe are delighted to be part of this amazing learning community. We welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence in education, and we look forward to working with you and your children. The Center Cass School District Board of Education appointed us as interim superintendents for the coming year while they conduct a thorough search for a permanent superintendent who will be taking over on July 1, 2020.

All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your children. Our enthusiastic office staff is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files. Our hard-working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning the facilities. In addition, our much appreciated PTO is gearing up to welcome families, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer other exciting events and programs. This is indeed a joyful and caring community with common goals of nurturing responsible, caring students and prompting high level learning.

Each year brings exciting change. As of the first week of August, additions to our staff include:
                Jennifer Halper – Teacher, Kindergarten
Leeann Harper – Teacher, Grade 2
Karen Roach – Social Worker, PV
Keith Roberts – Director of Technology
Brittany Stoney – Intervention Specialist, Ide
Julie Vergo – Speech Language Pathologist, District-wide

As you are surely aware, Elizabeth Ide as well as Lakeview Jr. High have been under considerable construction this summer. We are confident that all district schools will be ready for students on Wednesday, August 28.

Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. Your commitment to ensuring that Center Cass 66 remains a celebrated and successful school district is awe-inspiring. We eagerly look forward to greeting students and families again. It is an honor and privilege to serve you as interim superintendents. Please stop by and say hello. Together, we know we will make this school year a smooth transition for all.

Warmest regards,

Raymond Lechner, Ph.D. and Griff Powell, Ed.D.
