Shout Out to Our Custodians

Custodians at Prairieview School have been working collaboratively with several of our teachers to build spaces that benefit both teachers and students alike. You will see standing desks (also used as floor desks by students) in Mrs. Mandru’s room. Students have flexible seating in this classroom, and thanks to Mr. Mena, there are more choices available to promote student engagement.

Mrs. Goldenberg has introduced ukuleles as part of the 5th grade musical experience this year. But where to store these valuable instruments? Mr. Mena has provided the perfect solution so that the instruments are kept secure, yet are easily available for class. Plus, this storage cart doesn’t take up much space – the students will still be able to make use of the area for other music activities.

Mrs. Csorba is in the process of rolling out our new Fab Lab. This is an area where students can create, design, problem-solve, explore, and learn together. Making the old computer lab into such an innovative space was no easy task. Mr. Mena and Mr. Ringo kept in close communication with Mrs. Csorba and Mr. Pagel to transform the room into an amazing educational arena!

I am reminded of the quote, “It takes a village,…” We are so fortunate that our custodians are a part of our village!
