~ Take good notes. Take notes on all examples done in class, even if you think you understand.
~ If you have problems staying organized, get a three ring binder and keep all of your homework, quizzes, and handouts in it. You can keep a section for each of these things and put them in chronological order which will help you monitor your progress. I can help you with this.
~ Make sure that homework is done thoroughly. Having an answer is not all that matters. Understanding your answer and being able to explain it to someone is much more important.
~ Ask questions when you have them. If you don’t like to raise your hand in class, come in and see me in the morning or during homework time.
~ When in doubt about what you are doing look back at your notes. Try the examples without looking at the work or answers. You can then compare your work to the example and maybe figure out what you are doing wrong.
~ When studying for a test try the odds from sections you feel are not your strongest. I assign evens so that you can use the odds to check yourself.
~ When studying for a test look back at your homework, if you find an assignment that you have made many corrections on, you need to try some problems to make sure you have mastered the concept.
~ When studying for a test review quizzes from the chapter. You will find that the topics covered are very similar.
~ DON’T GET BEHIND!!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!
