Center Cass School District 66 is proud to congratulate several outstanding staff members who have been recognized through the Illinois State Board of Education’s Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program for the 2024–2025 school year.
A special congratulations goes to Dr. Sean Rhoads for receiving the Excellence in Education Award, the State’s highest honor. Dr. Rhoads is one of only fourteen administrators across Illinois to receive this prestigious recognition this year—an incredible accomplishment and a testament to his leadership and dedication to students, staff, and the District 66 community.
The state has also recognized three additional members of the District 66 team with Special Recognition honors: Meghan Aleo, Katie Finucane, and Maggie Kane. Each has been celebrated for being highly valued members of their school community and for the positive impact they make every day. We are thrilled to see the state shine a light on their outstanding contributions.
Since 1970, the Those Who Excel & Teacher of the Year program has honored educators who make significant contributions to public and nonpublic elementary and secondary schools across the state. Awards are presented in seven categories, including classroom teachers, early career educators, school administrators, student support personnel, educational service personnel, community volunteers, and teams. All awardees are recognized at an annual banquet each spring.
District 66 proudly celebrates these educators and thanks them for the dedication, passion, and excellence they bring to our schools and students each day.
