Family and Interests

The best way to learn about me is probably through my blessings.  I have been blessed to:

  • have been hired by the Olympia Board in 2000 and the Center Cass Board in 2020;

  • work with outstanding individuals at the federal, state, and local levels;

  • have a supportive family, parents, and children (+ the greatest grandson on earth);

  • have an eye for art, an ear for music, and the physicality for sport;

  • have an appreciation for faith, friends, family, and fun;

  • have been called to help grow our future leaders so they can change the world;

  • have hiked almost every National Park in the last 20 years (and traversed a few in 4WD);

  • have learned with people from many locations, religions, cultures, and backgrounds;

  • have been raised to love unconditionally, work hard for the right reasons, and be grateful;

  • have been taught to be well rounded and open-minded, but firm on values;

  • have met or seen my childhood heroes at Comiskey Park or Chicago Stadium, thus a Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, and Chicago Blackhawks fan for life;

  • and last but not least, to have been taught to never rest on your laurels and keep striving to improve yourself and others.

On a side note, the same blessings above have resulted in some sleepless nights, broken bones, and even a few embarrassing moments along the way, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
