A message from Mr. Little:
Dear Center Cass Community,
For 21 years, it has been the honor of my career to serve the students and families of this district. We created memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. We won championships over giants like Jefferson and Old Quarry. We knocked on doors together to pass a referendum that ensured our students had the support they needed to succeed. We brought national recognition to the district through our work with National History Day. We started an education foundation to generate funds that have fueled innovation, imagination, and a sense of belonging in our schools. This is such a special place for students because of these partnerships, and I will miss it deeply.
Newcomers to our district are always blown away at the spread our parents provide during Teacher Appreciation Week! This is also a metaphor for the abundance of time and care our parent volunteers pour into our community. I’m not sure we’ve ever canceled an event because of a lack of parent support! From field days to fun runs to movie nights, you always show up for students. Not to mention the support when it comes to reading at home, practicing their IXL, and getting those tired kids to school on time.
Our staff has poured their hearts into helping every Lion, Panther, and Spartan grow, nurturing unique strengths, building meaningful relationships, and giving their very best to our students every single day. Everything I’ve learned about what makes a great school comes from the great people of this district. Every room and bus row is bursting with joy because of the environments and relationships they cultivate.
As I look ahead to a new opportunity, I do so with gratitude, not sadness. Thank you for trusting me with your children. Thank you for your partnership, your support, and the countless ways you contributed to this community.
With gratitude and pride,
Jake Little
Coach, Teacher, and Principal
